BUSINESS UNIT INFORMATION:   The Global Product team at Aimia manages and instructs the development of our analytics products, which are used by retailers, manufacturers and our other loyalty card clients around the world. The team’s remit is to provide a central design and development service to support regional markets and to ensure consistency in the service provided and in new features developed. Aimia’s Insight Platform (formerly Self-Serve) is an industry-leading retail analytics tool and together with the wider team the Product Manager is responsible for managing the tool, directing its future development and ensuring alignment with other products in the portfolio thereby providing support to the Product Director. KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:  The role will transform the global Aimia Analytics vision into products and services that can drive the business forward globally.   The role will have responsibility for all Aimia Global Analytics products, including the leading Aimia Insights Platform. The role is to pull together all the threads from customer feedback, industry trends, competitive analysis, sales force and engineers into a product plan. The role needs to be a “jack of all trades”, who understands the technical details, the customer issues and the industry trends and can work with the sales force.  They should be able to think about business issues, support issues, technical issues, marketing, brand and pricing issues and are able to zoom in and out in a very flexible and fluent way. In collaboration with global strategy, IT, regional leads, capability leaders, market based assessments and client input the role will have responsibility for ensuring that Aimia’s Analytical Products remain competitive, leading edge and enhance the delivery of global P&Ls.   The role will also act as an interface between the capability/strategy groups, business development and technical solutions, helping to develop the proposition in line with our products and services. This role will:·         Play a key part in the formation of the global product roadmap·         Take ownership for key roadmap items and champion their delivery·         Ensure deployments and developments meet internal and external requirements·         Embed industry best practice into the product team and support personal development of more junior team members  RESPONSIBILITIES: inbound: ·         Responsible for Analytics Product Roadmap Development, working to develop a 12-18 month rolling product roadmap.o   Responsible for customer research and insights to guide the roadmap process. A number of committees / capability groups will inform and guide the VP Global Analytics Product to translate and refine priorities. o   Responsible for continuous competitive intelligence in conjunction with these committees/groups that will guide the roadmap process.o   Responsible for envisioning the differentiation of the Aimia products within the space of loyalty platform for retail, finance and CPG from the rest of marketo   Responsible for working with the committees / capability groups through to Business Development and Client on specific requirements that would be taken into product releaseso   Sponsor and drive the Architecture process to define the Aimia Analytics Platform.o   Support and recommend investment decisions on existing Aimia Analytical productso   Guide, facilitate and help build a migration plan for existing products onto the standard Analytical platformo   Responsible for the definition of business requirements prioritised to business value and responsible for energizing the region P&L leaders behind those “choices” bringing them on board as part of evangelising the Endeavour platform.)o   Responsible for business case and ROI recognising feature / cost / schedule trade offs o   Responsible for aligning Aimia product offerings across the loyalty platform domain and for ensuring alignment with other domains (analytics/campaign) by working with relevant stakeholderso   Ensuring appropriate stakeholder management across all functions that “touch” the loyalty vision.o   Responsible for the branding and pricing of Aimia Analytical Products ·         Accountable for Product Release Requirements and responsible for defining these with relevant committee / capability stakeholderso   Distil product roadmap requirements into 6-12 month release plans with next release detailed in full o   Collaboratively works with product engineering team to facilitate requirements into stories and acceptance testing of deliverables for each release.  Specifically focussed on:§  Product Roadmap - Development of medium/long term product release strategy, circulating this with stakeholders to gain buy-in§  Product Release – Documents the next product release (PRD), highlighting specific features and function for inclusion and rational/justification for these. §  Requirements Development – Development of the stories that make up a release (MSL) to ensure that scope is controlled whilst functionality delivered in collaboration with committees and capability groups§  Story Development – Supports business analysis and development resource in crafting and delivering the stories against the product vision§  Acceptance – Reviews all stories delivered, ensuring these meet requirements and are acceptable for release§  Provide Product Documentation to ensure that product documentation, both technical and user is up to date and supports all product stakeholders including support, users and business development OUTBOUND:·         Provides strategic direction around analytics product marketingo   To understand the competitive landscape by reviewing and continuously assessing competitive products, using these to drive out new innovationso   Responsible for ideation, strategy and vision within analytics product marketing to develop and promote innovative and distinctive capabilities o   Responsible for identifying, developing and managing strategic partnerships for loyalty platform services, products and solutions, working with stakeholders across the groupo   Responsible for actively building Aimia’s position as a global analytics product leader through thought leadership pieces and speaking opportunities ·         Responsible for supporting business development both strategically and tacticallyo   Work with Business Development to develop market opportunities o   Proactively generating demand through product promotiono   Working with existing clients to understand how programmes are working for them to allow for new thinking, features and serviceso   Presentations & Demos – Provide support for product demonstrations, setting up client/vertical specific data sets and driving the product to highlight key featureso   Event Support – Work with marketing team to support events and conferences, providing product demonstrations and thought leadershipo   Training – provide training of key stakeholders on the product and new releases including business development resources and technology support teamso   Launch/Release Planning– Ensures documentation is updated in line with new releaseso   Sales Process/Tools – Prepares and updates key sales materials for the product including context & architecture diagrams and features & functions lists ·         Collaborate with Product Marketing  in the support of  the platform(s) and / or each release:o   .o   Use success stories, case studies, white papers and build a launch platform for the platform / releases.o   Providing information and support for conferences, events and product marketing materials focusing on the features and benefits. OTHER:·         Stakeholder management is essential for the successful building of a product development roadmap. Interested parties will be:o   Global & Regional business development teams and client services teams (SVP level)o   Regional/Global IT Engineering and Operational Support functions (VP level)o   Global strategy office and committees and capability groupso   Business unit management e.g. PLS(UK) ·         Budgetary responsibility of c. £4.0 million to support ongoing product development ·         TeamManagement:o   Responsible for the recruitment and management of staff who will support the VP Global Analytics Product in the day to day management of product releases.o   Develop the team including:§  Conducting annual reviews to assess individual performance against objectives set; identify strengths and development areas and set objectives/development opportunities over the coming year. This should be followed up with regular reviews to adjust /realign as appropriate.§  Handle any employee related issues (performance, grievance, disciplinary, sickness, etc) that may arise within the team in conjunction with HR. §  Ensure we recruit the best talent available, outlining job specifications, identify and refer top talent in the market, conduct briefings/interviews/assessments/feedback, etc. as required in conjunction with internal recruitment.§  Work with internal HR and recruitment to ensure continual development and retention of top talent within the team.§  All of the above must correspond and comply with relevant legislation to the country in which the employee is based and company policy and procedures.   TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES/SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:·     Educated to Degree Level or equivalent industry experience·     Proven experience in a strategic role within the analytics arena·        Business Development experience with a proven track record·        Understanding of the IT arena and the evolving technologies/challenges being faced by Global Companies·         Ability to lead and influence across organizational boundaries·         Ability to innovate internally and externallyExperience of managing a business to business software productExperience in data analysis in a retail or FMCG environmentProven ability to create winning business casesGreat verbal presentation and written communication skillsExperience and mind-set of working in and with multiple agile teams, understanding agile ways of workingSome years’ experience of working directly in a scrum team in a product owner roleLine management experience (although this may not be part of the role on day 1)Project management experience, with a good understanding of servant leadershipExperience of working in a number of project management styles including waterfall and Agile ScrumExposure to scaled agile frameworks and preferably SAFe certified.Experience of working directly in a scrum team in a product owner role.Extensive experience on assortment, space, merchandising and promotions domain of retailers and FMCG.Experience working on products/applications with descriptive and predictive analytics.Good understanding of optimisation models like linear programming and optimisationsolvers like Gurobi.Experience in full Software Development Lifecycle experience particularly web based application development experience and a high level understanding of the technical architecture that supports this.Systems analysis experience within complex IT systems using multi–tier architectureExposure to data modelling and experience with relational databases like mysql, orcale.Exposure to ETL process in data warehouse.Exposure to in memory analytical software platform preferably kognitioExposure to hosting product/application in cloud based infrastructure.Experience in working with off-shore development teams. KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:·         Passion for product management, with a strong product point of view and willingness to say no·         Broad functional knowledge and organisational understanding·         General understanding of technology·         Ability to pick and lead great talent·         Innovative thinking including the identification of new opportunities·         Extensive experience in a senior management operational role with relevant industry experience·         Deep understanding of analytics strategy·         Experience of global business development·         Technical sales experience·         Proven product development experience·         Confident communicator – ability to liaise and negotiate across the business and externally·         Exceptional attention to detail and drive to deliver to a high standard·         Strong blend of commercial awareness, consulting skills with technical savvy·         The communicate decisions to all levels for the organisation i.e. technical teams, client teams, management/senior management·         Highly proactive with the “can-do” attitude to thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment  Salary - 75- 90K View full job description
