A permanent position has arisen for an Accommodation Manager to work for a national leading student accommodation provider at their site in Birmingham. The Accommodation Manager will have overall day to day management responsibility for the student accommodation scheme including the on-site team. The role is varied and challenging with the following key accountabilities: a) Accommodation Management• Ensure building is managed and maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures.• Maintain compliance with ANUK Code of Standards.• Comply with all Health and Safety requirements.• Set up and implement an out of hour’s emergency response service including key holder and emergency out of hours call list.• Respond positively to customer enquires and complaints and take appropriate action in line with the complaints procedure.• Prepare annual targets for service improvements.• Develop and maintain key contact at Universities, Colleges and other relevant bodiesb) Marketing and Lettings• Responsible for ensuring maximum occupancy.• Work with the marketing team to ensure literature and marketing material is appropriate, accurately reflecting the accommodation and services provided.• Maintain close links with the university and other appropriate academic institutions.c) Staff Management• Recruit and retain on site accommodation team.• Undertake full responsibility for the management of the staff.• Set performance standards for direct employed staff and third party contractors.d) Economic Viability• Develop operational budgets. • Responsible for control on spend.• Maximise income through rent collection and effective arrears control.• Maximise non core income e.g. promoting extensions, summer schools, and vending.The closing date for this position is 19 September 2013.
