Job Description **This is a part time post and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.**Primarily based at the Council Offices in Clydebank Town Centre, we are pleased to offer an exciting part-time opportunity to join our Homeless and Housing Options Team.Undertaking the various financial, practical, storage and support requirements within our temporary homeless accommodation you will work as part of a team and have the confidence to liaise with a variety of departments, agencies and organisations.Responsible for delivering a housing support, information and advice service to persons who are homeless/threatened with homelessness  and living in our temporary accommodation you will also manage the properties and co-ordinate services to ensure they are quickly turned around, are fit for purpose and are to a high standard.  It is essential that you have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and be confident and able to work with vulnerable individuals with challenging issues. You must be able to manage your workload with minimum supervision; and be IT literate.  You will be self-motivated; customer focussed, able to work under pressure, pragmatic; organised; flexible/ adaptable; and team orientated.  Awareness of issues surrounding homelessness and housing and previous experience of working with vulnerable people is essential.  A full driving licence is desirable to this post.Normal hours of duty are 35 hours over 2 weeks  to be worked as directed Week 1 - Monday and Tuesday Week 2 Monday - Wednesday.  You must be able to participate in “Out of Hours” stand-by rota as required.. If successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member. RequirementsThis post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found .Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.ResponsibilitiesThe employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
