Account Specialist: Financial ServicesLocation: Shoreditch, LondonSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 Annual Salary Asoko Insight is the world's largest provider of data and analytics of unlisted African companies. We leverage in-country research teams, institutional partnerships and web-crawling technology to gain insight into Africa's most promising businesses, particularly those operating in the middle market. Our clients include commercial banks, investment firms, multinationals and leading professional advisories.We are expanding our financial sales team and are seeking an Account Specialist: Financial Services.  The postholder will drive platform sales into Africa's financial industry, including private equity, venture capital, financial brokerage, M7A and corporate banking. The Account Specialist: Financial Services will be responsible for building and manage a robust client base in the African financial services sector, to include providing technical expertise in sales conversations regarding African financial markets, its financial data industry, and Asoko's proprietary database; managing Asoko's financial clients including private equity/venture capital firms, commercial banks, stock exchanges, and financial advisors; identifying, developing and concluding commercial partnerships at the UK and African level, including credit reference bureaus, commercial banks, investment conference organisers and African business/investment associations.The successful candidate will have:At least 5 years' experience in financial data sales, consultancy sales or related industries, at least 4 of which carrying a sales quota.2-3 years' experience working on/with Africa financial industry. Tangible evidence of a successful track record (such as won contracts/client references) will be requested.Master's degree in commercial management, preferably with a focus on international managementDemonstrable understanding of FX, Equity, Debt and Commodity markets within African context either through qualifications or relevant work projects and experienceExcellent written and oral communication skillsIn-depth understanding of the information services industryIn-depth understanding of platform sales and the working of a SaaS businessPassionate about the Africa business environmentGood command of Salesforce, Intercom (or similar) or other prospecting softwareExperience selling to African financial clients, communicating with professionals working in PE, AM, IB and related areasUnderstanding of nuances of African business culture and structuresKnowledge of challenges across African countries of lack of efficiency in capital allocation and isolutions being rolled out across asset classesExperience working with financial data providers and in key African economic hubs (eg Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, Cairo);An in-depth insight of Africa's corporate data infrastructure, its industry and its connection with the rest of the world.Proficiency in identifying financial client clusters and finding best ways to approach themA solid network among members of Africa's financial community that you can monetize and leverage to obtain access to potential clientsA skill and a passion for selling a new product or offering - something that has never been sold beforeAbility to think strategically about which companies and individuals to pursue and how to pursue themTenacity and persistence View full job description
