Our client is looking to appoint an Accounts / Administrative Assistant to maintain records in the Purchase, Sales Ledger and the Cash Book together with assistance to the HR Manager with confidential administrative functions.The related group businesses are anticipating strong growth and this varied role is an exciting opportunity to play an important part in their development. This is a great opportunity for a junior with at least 2 years of accounting experience and administrative know-how to develop within a dynamic and fast paced environment. The accounting function of this role represents approximately 80 of the total responsibilities.In return you can expect a good salary and benefits package including pension, healthcare, life insurance and 20 day holidays.Responsibilities:Posting of all entries to the Purchase &Sales LedgersEntry of payments into the online bank system and Sage 200 accounting systemDaily bank reconciliationsRaising sales invoices and chasing of outstanding debtors; preparing credit control reportsIntercompany rechargesAnalysis and posting of company credit card spendAssist with ad hoc analysis and reportsMaintain the on-boarding schedule for the Personnel departmentKeeping a log of employees benefitsAdministration of office facilities: purchasing of stationery and other supplies, liaising with cleaners, safeguarding of office keysKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Previous practical accounting / bookkeeping experienceUnderstanding of accounting principlesKnowledge of double entry bookkeeping and basic VAT rulesIntermediate Excel skillsExperience with Sage 200 preferable but not essentialEffective, clear, concise and pro-active communicator, both orally and written in a timely and professional mannerHigh levels of self-motivationAbility to work under pressure and to deadlinesAbility to balance priorities to achieve resultsA strong emphasis on attention to detail, accuracy and quality, with the ability to problem solveA willingness to learn new tasks, show initiative and be flexibleWell organisedFor more information please call Jon Gawley.
