Post Title:                  Accounts Assistant                         Salary:                       £19,500 per annum (pro-rata)   Holidays:                  25 days per year + public holidays (pro rata)  Hours of work:         18.5 hours per week  Office Base:          Community Lincs, Sleaford  Responsible to:       Finance Manager  Job Purpose To support the Finance Manager in the smooth running of the Finance Department. Specific Tasks and Responsibilities: Day to Day operating of all systems within the accounts department: Maintain cash-book spread sheets on excel for Community Lincs and its subsidiary, CC Ltd.                         Post cash-book entries onto Sage Line 50 nominal ledger ensuring cash balances agree. Reconcile bank statements to cash-book and Sage. Issue cheques and prepare bac’s payments for suppliers and nominal payments. Uploading of bac’s supplier payments direct from Sage to NatWest Bankline. Prepare and run the salary/payroll monthly using Payroll Manager, ensuring the Chief Executive Officer has approved the payroll. Monthly returns of all PAYE and earnings declarations to be prepared and submitted to HMRC. Prepare and process client payrolls monthly, submission of HMRC reporting and feedback to clients with payslips and PAYE/NI information. Monitor  staff, volunteer and trustee expenses claims.  Prepare monthly CC Ltd monthly management accounts to be checked by the Finance Manager. Issue and control all petty cash expenditure, maintain spreadsheet and post transactions to Sage ensuring both balances agree to the actual cash on hand. Preparation of monthly supplier payment. Run the recharges for stationery, postage monthly. Project expenditure reconciled monthly. Spreadsheets updated. Process the Company’s VAT and submit the VAT returns quarterly. Support the Finance Manager as requested, including the reconciliation of control accounts, posting of monthly journals, setting up the bac’s payments, etc.  General duties and Responsibilities: To work in co-operation with other staff members, adhering to all Policies and Procedures, including Equal Opportunities. To participate in regular supervision and appraisal meetings with the line manager. To participate in any internal/external meetings as required. To maintain accurate records and prepare timely monitoring and reports as required for Community Lincs and CC Ltd. The specific duties and responsibilities of this job description are not restrictive and the post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties as required.        View full job description
