An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 3 Trainee Clinical Coding Officer to join our busy Clinical Coding team. This post will be offered as a one year fixed term contract with the option of becoming a permanent employee upon successful completion of an in-house competency evaluation at the end of the first year.You will be working with a friendly, talented and committed team who take pride in producing high quality work consistently achieving 100 completion of coding activity within departmental timescales. We are looking for talented individuals who enjoy multitasking and thrive under pressure. You will be meticulous and detail oriented and comfortable in sharing knowledge of the job with other members of the team.The Clinical Coding department is spread across three hospital sites; Watford Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital. The role will be based at St Albans site but the post holder will be expected to work at the Watford site during the first 6 months for initial training. Occasional travel to other sites may be involved.We are the Associate Teaching Hospital of the University of London West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute healthcare services to a population of approximately half a million people living in west Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.
