BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE, BASED IN GLASGOW, covering Scotland territory (with emphasis on CENTRAL BELT). This is a Field based role, ideally with 1 day a week based in the Glasgow city centre office and 4 on the road (client facing).£30000 - 35000 plus Car, Mobile, Laptop, Bonus and BenefitsWell established Scottish based organisation (established over 150 years), with its roots within the Engineering and Manufacturing sectors, have a rare opening within their team, due to a recent retirement.THE ROLEOffering a mix of Account Management (40%), New Business Development (60%) and growth through re-contact of lapsed customers, this role offers a genuinely diverse and interesting opportunity, to an established, professional and experiences Field Sales person.The organisations target audience includes organisations from the Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Production and also Educational Institutions, branches of the military and other product design and engineering delivery organisations. (Knowledge of Manufacturing processes would be an advantage).Key decision makers with existing and target organisations would be:Senior H.R.Senior Operations PersonnelFinance DirectorsSenior Manufacturing/Heads of Business (with budgetary control)Retention StrategyDevelop a visual territory map of existing customers by:GeographyIndustrial Sector or discipline i.e. Heavy or Light Engineering, Food production etc.Work with The Commercial Manager and the Chief Executive to develop a cohesive outreach program to ensure that key decision makers within existing customer base are on a schedule for contact through a range of mechanisms including telephone calls, visits, lunches, event invitations, social media portals etc. Develop and document based on S.M.A.R.T. objectives, as well as a milestone/contact plan for each member organisation.Arrange "exit review meetings" with customers who no longer continue to do business with the organisation and fully understand the reason for leaving and where possible take remedial action to avert order cancellation or establish a process for re-engagement at a later date.New Business DevelopmentUtilising such resources as:SIC codes (Standard Industrial Classification),The organisations lapsed member registerLinkedInMember company networks/relationshipsIdentify for each organisation the "potential" key decision makers and devise a strategy for either a warm or cold approach to gain an access point and preliminary meeting to key decision makers.
