Position Overview We are currently recruiting for a competent and versatile person with a grounding in quality assurance to fulfil a Business Process Lead role for the Central Government and Defence Business Unit (CG & D BU). This role will be fixed term for 12 months.The main purposes of the role are to:Oversee the creation of business processes across all echelons of the BU; to include a library of generic process maps and standard operating procedures that can be adapted to fit any government or defence contract. Ensure that current processes and procedures are fit for purpose and reviewed at timely intervals.Ensure that best practice is adopted across all contract locations. Create and nurture a network of business process contacts across the BU and Support Services, including all contracts and support functions, such as HR, Occupational Health, Fleet, Finance etc.Represent the BU on all internal and external business process matters.Liaise with the Head of Business Processes for Support Services when required.Another important aspect of the role will be to challenge operational norms and question efficiency, develop service enhancements and quality improvements, apply change and transformation techniques. The position is at a lead practitioner level and is suitable for applicants with business process, Lean and organisational change experience. This is a mobile role (as defined by HMRC); the successful candidate will be expected to prioritise their diaries and workloads accordingly, and will include visiting Central Government and Defence contract locations across the UK. There may also be global travel involved to overseas locations such as Cyprus and the Falkland Islands. The incumbent will liaise with other Support Service BU staff as appropriate, and will attend any pan-BU business process meetings etc.Training and development support will be provided and the role reports to the Head of Business Improvement (CG & D BU).
