Vacancy InformationIt is East Lothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be placed on the first point of the salary scale.Salary  £20494 - £22410 per annum pro rata (£11.23-£12.28 per hour)3 x Permanent part time positions available20 hours per weekShift pattern - 4 over 5 days, covering seven days a week inc weekends and public holidaysTo start asapHours of work will be predominantly during the day covering between 07.00-14.00 however there may be occasions when the post holder will be required to cover between the hours of 14.00-22.00, therefore some flexibility is required.The Home Care Service provides care in the home for adults and the elderly across the whole of East Lothian who need assistance and encouragement to carry out daily living tasks.  It operates 7 days per week, 365 days per year between the hours of 07.00 and 22.00.The Care Support Worker plays a crucial part in ensuring service users identified needs are appropriately supported in the Community and are responsible for the delivery of direct personal care and to provide assistance with both practical and emotional support to assist service users to remain in their own homes in accordance with Individual Care Plans aims and targets.The Care Support Worker is required to respond sensitively and flexibly to a wide range of individual service user situations and have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Care Support Workers work in partnership with a variety of Health and Social Care Professionals and report directly to The Care Support Organiser.This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary Team within a Health and Social Care Partnership.We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who has the relevant skills and knowledge required in applying National Care Standards in all aspects of service delivery, who have a caring nature and excellent communication skills and who have experience and knowledge in working in a health or social care setting.A full current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.Job DetailsTo provide assistance, encouragement, practical and emotional support to the service user within their own home with all aspects of daily living including personal care and domestic tasks.
