Our Support Workers empower people with support needs to live the lives they want to lead.You will be helping people by being a reassuring and consistent contact that enhances their emotional and psychological well-being by providing personal care and companionship in their own homes. This might mean helping to prepare meals, some light domestic duties, accompanying people on appointments,shopping trips or other outings.As we provide continuity of care you will be making a real difference to a small group of individuals on a regular basis. We aim to allocate the same carers to each person, therefore promoting a friendly and healthy service to all.You will be changing people’s lives for the better.Main DutiesDeliver all aspects of personal careFacilitating social activities and education/work e.g. visiting family/friends, walks, cinema/theatre, meals out and other recreational activities of their choice.Monitoring individual’s progress and recording notes on daily record sheets.Liaise with families, friends, advocates, external agencies and the management team to provide a consistent approach that meets the individual needs of each service user.Delivering person centred care, supporting individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations.Appropriate records are kept of the service users progress and activities.To empathise and actively listen in a sensitive manner accessing appropriate additional support where necessary.To support service users to access appropriate health care provisions enabling them to make an informed choice regarding any prescribed treatment, seeking advice where necessary.To create opportunities for service users to develop, establish and maintain personal relationships and social networks, which encourage greater participation and integration in the community.General housekeeping e.g. cooking, shopping, domestic duties etc, and helping Service Users to maintain all aspects of their domestic lives.We welcome everyone into the industry even with little or no experience, full training and induction will be provided by the Flexicare at Home team.Successful applicants must:Be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UKHave a full UK driving licence and access to a carBe willing to undertake a DBS Check, this only applies to candidates who don't have a Portable DBS.Be able to provide satisfactory references for the past 5 years including any gaps in employment.Have experience of supporting people who display challenging behaviour.You will be genuinely passionate about delivering high quality care, be compassionate, empathetic, a good listener; patient and understanding, responsible, committed, reliable and flexible.If you are just looking for a job then a position with Flexicare at Home is not for you.
