CAREING FOR U UK LTD. Job descriptionTo perform the duties and tasks that facilitates our customers to live within their own home in a safe, secure and comfortable way. The post holder will be responsible for gaining an awareness of the needs of the customer to enable us to assist them to maintain their physical, personal independence and choice. A key element of the role is the ability to communicate effectively with our customers, their families and friends and other health and social care professionals. Specific tasks will be identified for each customer and will vary according to individual need and choice.  Key ResponsibilitiesThe Provision of Personal CareAssisting the customer to get up, dress and prepare for the day, assistance to prepare for bed at the end of day. This could include:?      Washing, bathing, showering, oral care, grooming ?      Toileting, assisting with use of commode, emptying commode ?      Continence management ?      Dressing/undressing and assisting with appearance ?      Using manual handling equipment ?      Assisting to eat and drink ?      Providing medication prompts (check the care notes, the MAR sheet and blister pack) ?      Meal preparation ?      Emptying commodes ?      Accurate completion of Care Plans and notes ?      Working with other health and social care professionals  The provision of Domestic CareAssisting the customer to live independently in their own home by understanding general housekeeping duties which could include:?      Laundry ?      Housekeeping and cleaning ?      Bed making ?      Generally making sure the customer is comfortable and warmSocial CareAssisting the customer to live independently by:?      Shopping and managing supplies ?      Collecting pensions and prescriptions ?      Ordering repeat prescriptions ?      Accompanying the customer to do their own shopping etc ?      Taking the customer to visit day centres/hospitals etc ?      Providing a ‘sitting service’ ?      Agreeing goals and outcomes with customers and reviewing these regularly ?      Engaging with the customer and showing an interest through talking and listening ?      Supporting the tenants daily by responding to intercom calls within a reasonable timeframe ?      Responsible for reporting falls, accidents and incidents to the shift leader and scheme manager on the day of incident ?      Working as an allocated key worker as assigned by the scheme manager ?      Supporting and participating in group and individual activities and working alongside the activities coordinator to promote these within the scheme  QualityAssisting the scheme manager, team leader and shift leader to deliver a high standard service to the customer in line with contractual obligations by:?      Supporting the  manager to complete and type accident and incident reports on the day of the incident ?      Supporting the  manager with familiarisation visits for new service users when requested ?      Supporting the  manager with quality visits for service users  ?      Remaining up to date with company policies and procedures, service user care/support plans and risk assessments ?      Complete all required documentation accurately and in accordance with company policy and procedure ?      Report any concerns or issues relating to the welfare of the customer or equipment to the Scheme Manager, Shift Leader and Team Leader  ?      Attend all mandatory training events in accordance with regulatory requirement and company policyDepending on the services delivered from the branch, Care Workers may sometimes be asked to provide basic duties in these areas, but only with guidance and supervision of an appropriate professional. The list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as reasonably required.Health and SafetyAs an employee of Careing for U UK Ltd., the post holder has a duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to: ?      Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and all other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work; and  ?      Co-operate with their employer to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and the Health and Safety policies and procedures, not intentionally or recklessly interfere with, or misuse, anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare, in pursuance of the relevant statutory provisions. Data ProtectionThe post holder must at all times respect the confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
