Casual Service AssistantLocation: Weston General Hospital (requires travelling within the area)Contract type: CasualHourly rate: £8.16 - £8.78About the roleWe have a fantastic opportunity for a flexible and enthusiastic individual to join our Independent Living team in Weston as a Service Assistant. This position is ideal for someone who has experience of working in the care profession with vulnerable people. You will support the Service Co-ordinator in delivering the British Red Cross Assisted Discharge service from Weston General Hospital, which will involve transportation and resettlement of service users. This is a fast response role which requires motivated, committed and enthusiastic people with good communication skills and an ability to deal with people in a sensitive yet professional mannerAbout the personTo be successful in this role you must have following skills and experience:Educated to GCSE level or equivalentExperience of Working with vulnerable peopleKnowledge of Safeguarding legislation, Health & Safety practices and Lone Working policies - or willingness to undertake trainingAbility to identify and assess people's needsUnderstanding of monitoring and reviewing service standards and qualityExcellent communication skillsAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to work alone, use own initiative and to be self-motivatingAble to work unsociable hoursOwn driving licence and use of car for work purposesAble to work flexible hoursAble to work and travel as appropriate to the needs of the jobClosing date for application is 23.59 on the 21st of November 2017 with interviews to follow.About the organisation The British Red Cross helps millions of people in the UK and around the world to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies, disasters and conflicts.
