Job Description**This is a part time term-time post and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.**Working Pattern, 12 hours per week: Monday – Thursday 11:00 – 1:25pm Friday 11:00 – 1:20pmA vacancy has a risen for catering assistant in Our Holy Redeemer Primary. The post holder will require to assist in the day today operational requirements of the catering service within the School. Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in Schools (Scotland) regulations 2008 and other relevant legislation and standards as required. Duties also include setting up and clearing away equipment for food service and general cleaning to a high standard of the crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety Standards, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety Legislation. A knowledge of such legislation would be an advantage, as would previous experience in this type of work. It is essential that applicants hold an elementary food hygiene certificate or similar qualification.The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.RequirementsThis post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
