It is with their dedication, passion and hard work that we can deliver excellent care programs that truly benefit the patients.Elysium Healthcare has a network of 22 sites strategically placed across England and Wales.Thornford Park Hospital – part of Elysium Healthcare – is an independent 133 bed hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire.  We provide services for male patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security and also have a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).  Thornford Park offers long-term treatment and rehabilitation to men with enduring mental disorders and forensic histories, and who present with multiple problems, challenging behaviour, high risk behaviour and complex needs. Annual salary: £29,550Hours per week: 37.5  Our Chef Managerroleinvolves: Managing staff and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of all aspects of food preparation, cooking and delivery within a large Secure hospital whilst taking into account any special requests or dietary requirements.Managing, developing and motivating a team of kitchen and servery staff at all levels. Conducting individual meetings and appraisals.Responsibility for managing the catering budget within Elysium standards, taking into account cost per cover calculations, as well as ensuring best value and quality of ingredients and disposablesFull responsibility for all aspects of catering operation, and ensuring that all regulatory and Company standards are met or exceeded within the kitchen, servery and dining areas.Overseeing the creation of new menus on a 4 weekly for the Unit, taking into account any needs that particular patients/staff groups may have.Developing and implementing service standards at a local level; developing and enhancing new and existing services, taking into account current hospitality trendsMaking innovative, cost effective and service driven recommendations to improve quality of food and catering services for across the Unit.Chairing any catering meetings with catering staff and bringing them up to date with any changesLiaising with the dietician ensuring that the patients dietary needs are met to include allergies, ethnical & Religious circumstancesBeing responsible for all the ordering and checking controls of suppliesUndergoing any training required by the company to aid developmentCompling a file for HQS purposes and to be actively involved in seeing that the policies are followedUndertaking other comparable duties as may be required by the management, to include covering the hours of service, which may include cooking in the shortage of catering personnel Adhering to budgets set by head office to include the food & staff budgetsBeing responsible for the personal and professional development of the catering team and getting them to attend any courses that are required to do the jobArranging and chairing meetings involving patients and staffAttending management/Board meetings, as required and mutually agreed visits to other catering and Elysium establishments to get ideas to better the service    To be successful as a Chef Manager,you’ll need: To be available to work Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm (occasional weekend shifts will be required).Possess several years work experience within a professional catering environment, including the management and motivation of medium/large sized teams, both within the kitchen and dining areas.
