The extra care model allows frail, older people 55+ to live independently, in their own self-contained apartment, our various schemes consist of between 40- 100 tenants, with additional facilities on site including a hairdressing salon, communal space for social activities, and assisted bathing and restaurant facilities. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, mobile individual who will be able to share their knowledge and deputise for the Chef Managers in their absence, working within the Linc Extra Care kitchens and serving between 40-100 meals every day, working 5 days out of 7, 30 hours a week as a full time, permanent position. Duties will include: Leading the kitchen team to produce nutritious, high quality, well presented, freshly made meals to all residents on a daily basis.Travelling to various Linc Extra Care sites and ensuring the quality of food is consistent and in line with the high standards of the Chef Manager in situ.Deputising for the Chef Manager in their absence, and overseeing the work of the catering staff and kitchen management including ordering, serving, and leading the team by example.To set the standards by personal example, using excellent food standards.Work to Health and Safety and environmental health standards.  What skills do I need to have?You will be required to have a successful record of kitchen Management within a fresh food commercial environment, and be inclusive, helpful, and responsible. You will also already possess basic catering qualifications at or equivalent to QCF / NVQ Level 3. You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive, caring attitude to supporting your colleagues and the residents. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. Did you know…?You will be working 30 hours per week, typically 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. This will include working weekends and bank holidays, including Christmas. You will have your own transportation and will be reimbursed for mileage. The hours are great!!
