This role has been created to ensure that children and young people who are more likely to be disadvantaged and vulnerable are take part in council activities and are able to access council facilities. These include: youth work, sport, culture and event, parks, leisure centres and community centres. The children and young people strategy targets are: from regeneration areas; those not involved in employment, education or training; involved with social services, disabled, black, Asian and minority ethnic, in and leaving care, carers, young women, involved with the criminal justice system, lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender, refugees and asylum seekers.We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. You should have a qualification relevant to working with children and young people and have demonstrable experience of working with disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. We asked a group of young people what skills, experience and character they think the ideal candidate should have.
