Clinical Psychologist - Band 7 - Paediatrics - 37.5 Hours per Week - 12 month Fixed Term Contract maternity coverThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing and supportive psychology team in Paediatrics at West Suffolk Hospital. The post holder would be running four half day clinics per week as well as having the opportunity to work on the Children’s Ward, supporting the assistant psychologist on the Neonatal Unit and running groups and workshops. The psychology team offer a service to children and young people under the care of the hospital, and their families, to support them to cope with managing chronic health conditions, coping with medical procedures or with stress, low mood and other emotional wellbeing issues that they are experiencing. We also work with children with persistent physical symptoms where there is no medical explanation and help children and young people to cope with the symptoms they are experiencing for as long as they have them. The successful applicant would be welcomed into a supportive multi-disciplinaryteam and would be expected to attend regular safeguarding supervision as well as regular supervision from the consultant clinical psychologist. We have excellent secretarial and admin support and an excellent on site library. There are opportunities for developing skills in CBT, ACT, systemic work and CAT, as well as neuropsychology, with access to specialist supervision groups if required. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
