We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical or counselling psychologist to join the Inpatient and Acute Psychology Service in NELFT. The post holder will join a well-established, well respected and innovative psychology service for people in crisis. The post holder will provide consultation, assessment and evidence based interventions including individual, group, and family work as well as the supervision of an Assistant psychologist.This is an exciting post, offering the opportunity to work across settings. The post is split between an older adult home treatment and an Female older adult/frailty ward. Service-users present with both functional and organic difficulties, providing variety in the work undertaken. The post holder will have the opportunity to be directly involved with the development of the role within the home treatment team. The post will suit someone who has a strong interest in working with multidisciplinary teams, working in an inpatient setting and working with older-people and their families at a time of crisis.We recognise the importance of promoting the professional development of our staff and there will be a number of opportunities to participate in continued professional development including close supervision by senior members of the inpatient and acute psychology team. The Trust has strong links with, and provides placements for, the clinical psychology courses and several members of the department are engaged in teaching in local clinical training courses.Applicants should have:Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology.Current registration as a Practitioner Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).Experience of working in an evidence-based way with clients presenting with severe mental health difficulties and people in crisis. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary service context.Experience and interest in working with older people and their families and carers.This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services.
