The small animal clinic is dedicated to providing the highest standards of patient care, and has an active programme of clinical research and post-graduate training (internships, residencies and PhDs). The surgery group works closely with our specialists from other disciplines, including anaesthesia, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine neurology, oncology, ophthalmology and physiotherapy. On site we have CT, fluoroscopy, 1.5T MRI and a linear accelerator. The pathology and clinical pathology laboratories on site complement the clinical services and enable us to offer a full on-site diagnostic service. Additionally, the AHT has a number of research groups and an equine referral clinic with opportunities for collaborative work. We currently have two vacancies for clinicians/ senior clinicians to join our Small Animal Surgery Department. The successful candidates will be either boarded (ECVS/ACVS/RCVS) or board eligible and can specialise in either soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics or a combination of both disciplines, depending on personal preference. You will join a team of two other surgeons, one surgical resident and one surgical nurse.  Whilst on clinics, your primary responsibility will be the delivery of a first class surgical service, using our recently refurbished state-of-the-art theatre suites, supported by our dedicated theatre staff. An extensive range of surgical equipment is available, including minimally invasive/interventional radiological instrumentation and the Biomedtrix THR kit. The successful candidates will also provide an emergency out-of-hours service as part of the team.
