Key responsibilities: •Understanding and interpretation of engineering requirements •Ability to diagnose faults and produce sot-effective and appropriate design solutions •Willingness to travel at short notice to various global locations for periods of up to 2 weeks at a time •Lead the development of motion control and PLC programming procedures •Liaise with engineers to establish efficient, accurate testing procedures for all instrumentation •Liaison with engineers and technicians during design, manufacturing, assembly and test •Customer training in instrumentation &controls usage •Manage projects in terms of schedule, cost and quality •Preparing functional and design specification •Producing, checking and managing electrical designs for both wiring circuits diagrams and PLC programs •Prepare user manuals and “as-built” documentation- maintaining an accurate, up –to-date record of customer systems •Work within the company’s ISO 9001 quality system Essential skills: •Motor tuning and control, both stepper motors and DC servo systems.
