Based at: The Reader, Mansion House, Calderstones Park, Liverpool, L18 3JBSalary: £17k - £22k (pro-rata)Hours: Part Time 17.5 hours per weekDuration: Three years fixed termLocation: Working across Merseyside, based at Head Office, CalderstonesAbout this roleThis role requires an experienced, hardworking and well networked individual who can raise awareness of the work of The Reader and our project with The Morgan Foundation.  The Community Engagement Coordinator role will be key to establishing local and regional connections and building partnerships which place shared reading firmly within local communities, helping us to reach young people and families specifically:  Children under 8 years old (and their parents and siblings) living in areas of high deprivationChildren and families receiving additional support, be that for health or socio-economic reasons Children living with disabilities and their familiesNew parents and parents- to-be Key Responsibilities: This is an exciting opportunity for a hard working individual to join our team and develop a diverse range of partnerships across the City and North West.You will: Work closely with The Children & Young Person Manager to successfully plan and deliver the outcomes of the Morgan Foundation ProjectCreate a Community Engagement PlanBuild and strengthen relationships with partners, and a variety of stakeholders across the region, introducing them to shared reading and volunteer opportunities Identify suitable partners and locations for our project workshops, Shared Reading groups and story times to be embedded within partner services and delivered across the region Co-ordinate an effective training and support programme for partner staff and volunteersWork closely with the Evaluation and Monitoring manager to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation takes place in a timely manner according to the needs of the project.Co-ordinate and deliver an extensive programme of Family Fun Days at the Storybarn for children and young people most in need Work collaboratively with the Story Barn Manager to make sure the programme is vibrant, inspiring and accessible Assist in the creation of promotional materials to inspire and support partners and volunteers to establish and advertise their groupsPersonal Specification:Essential CriteriaHas a proven track record in outreach work, partnership development and engaging hard to reach groups, individuals and children Has held a similar role, or roles which have equipped you with skills and experience that will enable you to build lasting relationships with a broad spectrum of people.Able to demonstrate an understanding of the work of The Reader and its social values and have a good understanding of the purpose and social mission of The Reader to be able to increase and grow shared reading across the UKIs able to work collaboratively with staff at all levels of seniority Is self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervisionIs a keen and active learnerIs able to plan and prioritise work when resources are limited and timescales are difficultAble to bring a positive approach to work, finding creative solutions to problemsAble to work flexibly to get the job done. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
