With offices in major business and financial centres, we deliver an outstanding service to our clients anywhere in the world.·              Linklaters’ construction team sits within the wider real estate group. It is a small and supportive team which works closely with colleagues in real estate and alongside those in corporate and banking, and is often involved in fast-paced deals with a very high profile.·              The focus is on high end, high value, complex matters for occupiers, investors, developers and funders - for example overseas investors and global corporates, but also acting for not-for-profit organisations on their construction needs. The team does not typically work on non-UK schemes nor infrastructure/energy and projects matters. Key Responsibilities and ChallengesTechnical·                Taking initial instructions internally or externally·                Research, due diligence and information management·                Drafting and reviewing documentation, demonstrating familiarity with precedents and market standardsClient Relationship Management ·                Taking a lead role in advising the client under appropriate supervision·                Providing commercial and legal advice to the client·                Demonstrating thorough market knowledge to identify current trends and concerns in relevant industry sectors. Able to present ideas to the client to resolve current market issues and anticipate potential problemsManagement·                Responsibility for ensuring work is delivered to deadlines·                Debriefing at the end of a matter or at other appropriate stages·                Co-ordinating, coaching and monitoring the work of others to facilitate achievement of objectives·                Effective organisation of documentation and project plans·                Managing meetings effectively by setting clear objectives and agendas and encouraging others’ participation.Business Development·                Networking with clients and others in the firm to capitalise on new business opportunities·                Contributing to quality knowhow and transaction bibles and their upkeepTraining·                Delivering practice specific training·                Coaching less experienced associates and trainees including from other practice areas·                Regularly giving and seeking clear performance feedback to/from othersCharacteristics, Skills & Experience requiredExperience·                Ideally 2-3 years post qualification experience in the construction field.·                You will have a broad range of experience and a keen interest in all aspects of construction law and practice which should include knowledge of all procurement routes.
