This portfolio includes a range of credit profiles, including A rated to cross over credits – with the majority in the BBB range. The C and H names are truly global and typically bank with Citi in 50-80 GSG markets. Bankers supporting this portfolio gain unique insight into Citi’s globality and depth of product suite - driving value throughout the network, CMO, Market Risk Management, including structured derivatives, (FXLM, RMS, CSG, Pensions) and TTS. Clients are sophisticated, open to solutions, and banked widely and competitively by the market. Support UK C and H analysts in the preparation of SMLs, as well as modelling analytics - including acquisition finance pitches, merger modelling, FSG debt capacity, acquisition capacity, and shareholder returns capacity analysis, against given rating bands.For non-Project Crystal countries, assist Senior Bankers in risk modelling, credit risk analysis, EDAC preparation and execution. Support business origination across Citi’s product set, with particular focus on episodic and strategic financing transactions across EMEA, in partnership with the Investment Bank.For UK based clients, the role also includes assisting clients in their day-to-day operations of flow related business. Coverage of client Treasury teams, of which many are 10-15 people deep, often multi-geography.Delivering and leveraging the network differentiators is key to success in this portfolio, and global travel for the Support Bankers should be expected.   Job Background/context: The Corporate and Investment Banking business provides financial advisory services on a wide range of strategic transactions (including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and re-structuring) and capital-raising projects and debt financing projects, for corporate clients, financial institutions and governments worldwide. Our bankers work closely with our other business units to ensure client access to the full range of products and expertise within the organisation.The position sits within the Corporate Banking Consumer and Healthcare (C and H) team. The Banker will support the client business in the UK and EMEA. The role involves a significant amount of client contact both face-to-face and by phone.The Consumer and Healthcare team has credit and analytical responsibility for the UK portfolio and certain EMEA markets. The Associate will be exposed to multiple sub-sectors and multiple global relationship teams. They will also work very closely with our C and H Investment Banking colleagues on acquisition financing related opportunities, and our full ICG product suite. Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing the Corporate Banking relationships for UK C and H clients- Develop relationship with the clients’ head office teams as well as with key subsidiaries.- Engage daily with clients to deliver Citi’s full product set (flow and episodic) across the globe.- Develop and maintain knowledge of the innovations in the core product set to explore and refer opportunities.- Maintain regular and frequent dialogue with product partners to deliver against the client agenda.- Interact daily with Citi’s network around the globe to ensure activities and origination work streams are co-ordinated across the franchise.- Client Management including assisting in developing appropriate credit strategies and attending client meetings and presentations as appropriate in managing day to day relations.   Support the Digital innovation agenda, working in partnership with EMEA C and H Bankers.Support Banking Team and ICG product partners for selected EMEA C and H clients (existing and prospective)- Oversee credit analysis activities for a specified client set (transaction and periodic credit reviews).- Assessment of liquidity position and financial condition, peer analysis, identifying industry trends and outlook and preparation of financial projections and sensitivity analysis.The associate will develop (i) in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the business, (ii) an understanding of clients’ priorities with the aim of identifying appropriate marketing opportunities and (iii) strong relationships internally with key product, risk and regional partners. Development Value:Exposure to Senior Management and Senior Bankers across the Citi ICG product suite.Opportunity to develop world class broad based banking and client relationship skills.Exposure to an open and multicultural working environment.An opportunity to develop a strong knowledge and understanding of credit and banking products as well as exposure to ICG products and Relationship Management teams.Opportunity to develop a unique knowledge of complex and strategic financings across EMEA.Knowledge/Experience:  Prior experience in Corporate and Investment Banking.Demonstrate a working knowledge of a broad spectrum of products and how they meet client needs.Experience with various clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities.Credit trained, used to taking a lead role in establishing the creditworthiness of counterparties.Experienced at client planning and coordinating input from multiple product areas.Strong knowledge of Accounting and Corporate Finance Advanced Financial Modeling experience.   Skills: Analytical - assimilating new information quickly and relating it to the needs of the client base.Organizational – Managing demands from several sources and working to deadlines.Proactivity, identifying situations that could result in new business and developing recommendations tailored to the client.People skills – building a rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.Verbal and Written Communication - Attention to detail and assuming responsibility over time for client contact.Quantitative and Financial Modelling skills.  Qualifications: Demonstrable understanding of credit analytics, modelling, strong writing style and completion of requisite training as a Junior Banker.Educated to degree level with a minimum grade of 2:1 (or equivalent experience). Competencies: Team Player - being able to work in partnership with other individuals on day-to-day and long term projects.Excellent interpersonal skills.  Able to create and sustain good personal contacts within the client group, balancing client requirements and Citi’s priorities.Self - starter - prepared to take the initiative to follow issues through, whilst exercising judgment as to when to seek assistance.Networking - maintaining close contact with product and risk specialists within Citi.Credit analytics and Financial Modeling experience.Excellent computer skills especially Excel.
