We are playing a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK to secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees. Vacancy Overview We have an exciting opportunity for an analyst in the Top Tier & Generation Credit Risk team within the Wholesale Markets Optimisation (WMO) department. Responsible for supporting commercial teams entering into the largest transactions across the whole of EDF Energy, the team produces timely and accurate reporting and analysis which contributes to the effective control of credit risk associated with such transactions.With the role encompassing activities across Customers, Generation, New Nuclear and Corporate functions, the Analyst will have the chance to work on a variety of stimulating projects that will drive the future of the energy industry, from innovative new customer offerings to multi-million-pound engineering contracts in our new nuclear business.Previous energy industry experience is not required, just a passion for using data, analytics and commercial drive to solve complex problems as we build a low carbon and Smart future energy system. Nature and Scope Wholesale Markets Optimisation is responsible for managing the gas and electricity energy needs of our residential and business customers and for managing the needs of the Generation fleet.  The activities include modelling and analysis, demand forecasting, fundamental analysis, portfolio hedging, non-energy cost forecasting, short term optimisation, Generation liaison and of course, risk management.Energy Market & Credit Risk (“EM&CR”) sits within WMO and is responsible for 1st level credit risk control duties in EDF Energy.  EM&CR allocates - or proposes for approval by the relevant authority - appropriate credit limits, monitors credit risk, measures credit risk, reports on credit risk and aids the commercial teams in identifying and mitigating credit risk.  EM&CR will provide credit risk analysis that provides assurance of compliance with EDF Energy’s Credit Risk Policy in order to support management decisions. Principal Accountabilities * Establishing the credit worthiness of companies across a wide range of sectors, using quantitative internal and external scoring techniques, along with personal qualitative judgement* Setting credit limits in accordance with EDF Energy’s Credit Risk Policy, facilitating where appropriate, escalation for further approval at committee and executive level* Supporting the commercial negotiation of contracts to effectively manage risks whilst remaining commercially balanced* Investigating, negotiating and implementing credit mitigation in conjunction with Legal and commercial functions* Producing efficient and insightful credit risk reporting, dynamically responding to business and market changes, and to the requirements of internal stakeholders, senior management and EDF Group* Identifying breaches in credit risk policy, investigating and making suggestions for their resolution and further development of policies* Responsible for making suggestions to the Senior Manager of Credit Risk to improve the credit risk control framework* Assisting in risk reviews of new instruments, investments, hedging strategies and products in order to provide assessment of the impact on, and requirements for, credit risk management Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience * Academic qualification at Degree level in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience* Analytical approach – drawing valuable insight from large amounts of data and research* Comfortable and credible discussing technical subject matter* Desire and ability to deliver commercial value* Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills* Self-starter with the capacity to innovate* Takes responsibility and makes decisions* Engaging, enthusiastic and motivational* Understanding of credit risk monitoring, measuring and mitigation techniques (desirable)* Ability to interpret financial accounts (desirable)Profil : * Academic qualification at Degree level in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience* Analytical approach – drawing valuable insight from large amounts of data and research* Comfortable and credible discussing technical subject matter* Desire and ability to deliver commercial value* Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills* Self-starter with the capacity to innovate* Takes responsibility and makes decisions* Engaging, enthusiastic and motivational* Understanding of credit risk monitoring, measuring and mitigation techniques (desirable)* Ability to interpret financial accounts (desirable)--To apply : https://edf-energy.contactrh.com/jobs/4500/24694346 View full job description
