Job descriptionThe instore customer cafe caters for many people, providing excellent food and great service.Main responsibilitiesTo ensure you are aware of and comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times e.g. Food Handling, Manual handling, Fire procedures   To ensure that any health & safety hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your Line Manager at the earliest opportunityTo maintain a clean, safe & hygienic working environment at all timesTo provide the highest level of customer service by learning and demonstrating the ESS Way values and behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers & clientsTo maximise sales opportunities and ensure customer choice & value is enhanced by offering up-sell products and promotionsTo ensure stock is replenished, shelves are full and merchandising is in place and in accordance with company standards To assist with the delivery and stock take process by checking off, signing, counting, label checking and rotating stock as instructed by your Line ManagerTo carry out all till functions correctly, ensuring accuracy of cash, credit card and other transactions are completed in line with company proceduresTo ensure all legal age sales are adhered toTo achieve the relevant performance targets within your areaIf assigned key holding responsibilities you must ensure keys are signed in and out and company opening and closing down procedures are followedTo be flexible and assist colleagues outside of your usual work area as required by operational needs. This may include but not be limited to working in retail stores, coffee shops, bars, vending, messes & basic food prep areasTo actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team membersTo follow company procedures whilst seeking opportunities to do things better, raising suggestions with your line manager to ensure we continuously improve our operationTo ensure all equipment provided is used, maintained & stored correctly and any defects are reported to your Line ManagerTo comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line ManagerIdeal candidateHigh standards of personal hygieneA positive attitude & committed to high levels of customer careGood communication skillsBasic mathematical skillsAble to work flexibly in line with business requirementsAble to undertake a range of manual dutiesHealth & Safety – Follows the right procedures & challenges unsafe behaviourCan Do – Is flexible & takes initiativeIntegrity – Respects colleagues & customersPassion – Is positive & proud of doing a great jobResponsibility – Takes ownership and doesn’t leave things to others or say ‘it’s not my job’Teamwork – Shares knowledge & experience with other team members View full job description
