Being able to adapt to the momentum of change and having the freedom of action will enable staff to deliver IT solutions that will have a positive impact on our students, academics, and professional services staff.The roleYou will be part of a customer focused team of technicians providing excellent IT support services to users to make the best use of the IT facilities at their disposal.   This role will primarily be coordinating and providing IT support at the University’s Exeter Campuses.  Reporting to a Desktop Support Team Leader, you will have a central role in the support of IT services and you will work closely with other members of the team; and will support colleagues from other teams within the university.  The post holder will provide advanced 2nd line technical support as well as supervising lower level team members workload.The role will be required to work a 36.5 hour week over 5 days, flexing shifts to cover an 0800-1800 support window.  You may occasionally be required to undertake additional hours and weekend support for bookings and events. Additionally, if working patterns need to flex in the future to meet university changing demands, this post would be automatically slotted into any new flexible working pattern required to support the service.The ideal candidate will have excellent IT support skills from a 2nd line support role and be willing to continue to learn and develop themselves in this area.
