Contract Design Engineer Mechanical Design Engineer (Daventry) Diesel Engines Rates circa £25 - £30 Ltd Per Hour 40 hours per week Main Purpose of the Position: Generate concepts and develop detailed design solutions for large high speed diesel engine sub-systems and components Produce documentation and calculations to support designs Work within a small, local core team, supporting worldwide entities Key Responsibilities: Produce Layout and Designs of new systems and components using Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4 CAD Software Create detail drawings in line with Cummins' Practices and Procedures & design standards to support component release Support Engineering Standard Work practices, Classification of Characteristics and tolerance analysis Prepare and participate in Design Reviews, Drawing reviews & DFMEAs Work to project plans Liaise with suppliers Document work through technical reports and meeting minutes Attend team meetings & drive meeting actions and issues to closure Experience Required: Pro/ENGINEER CAD software expertise 3 to 5 years engine and engine system and component design experience, engine system expertise Concept layout and drafting experience (not essential) Manufacturing / process experience / knowledge (Sand casting, Fabrications, Extrusions, Machining) Fuel system, Air handling, Lube / Coolant system experience beneficial Education/qualifications required: Degree / HNC/D in relevant Engineering discipline preferred If you are interested or you would like any more details please contact us in the first instance !!...View full job description
