Role is inside IR35.Client requires a candidate that can,o Implementing the changes to Asset Management and Programmes teamso Proceeding with the ITT for outsourcing of FMo Maintaining progress on the move to Stratford projecto Maintaining progress on Arts moveSuccessful candidate will need to focus and drive delivery.Purpose of job: The post holder is accountable for Global Estates workplace assets and facilities management, ensuring it provides safe, secure and productive working environments for British Council staff, customers and visitors worldwide An interim role has arisen as a result of the resignation of the incumbent Director of Global Estates. The incumbent post-holder has been working on a number of strategic change projects that now require to be implemented.  The interim alignment will therefore be focussed on delivering change effectively, and in a manner consistent with the culture and values of the organisation.Accountabilities, responsibilities and relationships Accountabilities:Leadership, strategic direction and management of the British Council’s global estates function and for the development and application of property asset management capability and techniques to improve the performance of the British Council’s global property portfolio.Responsibilities: Subject matter expert: Senior professional adviser to the Executive Board and the Board of Trustees on all matters related to estates, property and facilities management.Estates strategy: Define an appropriate global estates strategy for the management of the British Council’s global property portfolio to 2020 and beyond which aligns with the ambition and objectives of the Corporate Plan and other aspects of corporate strategy set by the Executive Board.Strategic asset management: Direct and oversee strategic changes to the British Council's global property portfolio.Corporate landlord: Develop and lead the implementation of a new, more sustainable economic model for the management of the global property portfolio.Investment planning: Lead and assure the corporate planning of investment and prioritisation of funding related to the global property portfolio.UK accommodation: Execute the London move to new premises in Stratford.Global workplace and facilities management: Put in place appropriate policies for the global workplace.Strategic design: Set global standards for design of new property solutions that support the SBU’s business initiatives and promote our corporate brand.Budget oversight: Oversee the planning, forecasting and management of GE’s operational budgets related to our properties, FM services and staffing for the UK estateBusiness-as usual activity: Assure the management of planned property acquisitions, fit-outs, refurbishments and relocations as set out in the Estates Strategy and the individual Regional Asset Management PlansLead GE’s property and facilities management (P&FM) service delivery function, working with and through our retained business partner, CBRE, as appropriateMaintain effective business management: procurement and contracting, stakeholder management, Government property requests and approvals, environmental management, data and reporting.5041078 Essential Employment are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
