The RoleResident (not live in) engineers assistant:We have a vacancy for an engineer’s assistant. The role involves assisting our resident engineer in the delivery of planned preventive maintenance and attendance to customer reactive calls (faults). You would need excellent customer facing skills, an ability to work alone or as part of a small team, be punctual and accurate in your planning. The base for your employment is a very prestigious building in London and very high standards of behaviour are expected. Ideally you would have some experience in the fire alarm, fire detection and suppression systems industry but this isn't mandatory. Training will be given.The CompanyYou would be joining a small family run company that's been in business for 30 years. We have a good management structure and a team of around 30 people. Although this position is resident (based in one London location) you will have the opportunity to travel to other London sites and further afield at times. The position is permanent. The exact location is London SW1A. The working hours are 42.5 per week, 4 weeks holiday which can rise to 5 weeks subject to performance and years served + public holidays. Opportunities to travel in the UK and overseas are not uncommon and are fully expensed. Overtime may be available and could be part of your weekly plan of work.  Full PPE and necessary training, uniform (we supply shirts, sweat shirts and jackets) with an allowance to buy trousers and safety footwear. Candidate RequirementExcellent customer facing skillsSome experience in the fire alarm, fire detection and suppression systems industry advantageousThe right and ability to work in the UK requiredHonest reliable and motivated Relevant electrical or electronic qualifications an advantageA relevant completed course detailing aspects of fire alarms an advantageA clean licence would be an advantage, but not essential. All tools (other than standard hand tools) & test equipment are provided.We will be required to vet you to BS7858 before employment can be confirmed, we will also require UK Government  vetting to CTC standard.We are an equal opportunities employer View full job description
