The Nursery Nurse is a key member of the early year’s teamresponsible for delivering high quality care and learning opportunities forchildren, based on the needs and interests of those children.Promotepositive relationships in the early years settingToimplement the daily routine in the base room within the settingPromotethe health, safety and wellbeing of the childrenSupportthe children’s development, learning and playBea key person carrying out all related responsibilities in buildingrelationships with a small group of children and theirContributeto the effectiveness of team workDuties and ResponsibilitiesHavea child-centred approach to the running of the serviceEncourageand model appropriate behaviour and expectationsMaintainaccurate and effective children’s records (i.e. development, accidents,medications, existing injury and etc)Respondappropriately to issues requiring confidentialitySupport,promote and implement policies relating to diversity and equalityToensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs ofindividual children from different cultures and religious backgrounds, andstages of developmentWorkwell as part of a teamWorkwith the team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery dayWorkin partnership with parentsAttendparent events and meetings as requiredPromotethe nursery to current parents and potential customersWorkwith parents and other agencies to support childrenImplementLeaps and Bounds policies and procedures to ensure compliance with theEarly Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other statutory requirementsObserveand plan appropriately for the children using Leaps and Bounds materialsEnsurethat children are kept safe and that where necessary follow child protectionprocedures.Practicepositive behaviour management techniquesSupportthe manager and work as a team to ensure a good or better inspectionoutcomeAttendstaff meetings and training sessions necessary for continuing ProfessionalDevelopmentParticipatein all self development activities including appraisal and supervisionsMaintainstaffing ratios in accordance with statutory regulationsTobe flexible within the practices of the nursery.
