Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer £25000 - £31000 + Overtime (OTE nearly £40K) Interviews 1-2 weeks, Start 25th February With major automotive OEMs such as Jaguar Land Rover announcing an increase in sales of over 30% thanks to huge demand for British manufactured cars from China, India and Russia, this global manufacturer of automotive components has a full order book in place and is planning aggressive growth over the next 5 years. Knowing that JLR will be launching 3 new models every year until 2018, this business has worked closely with them to become a key strategic partner which will facilitate their growth. With projects kicking off at the start of 2013 an urgent need has been identified for several electrical maintenance engineers. The successful maintenance engineer will possess the following key skills: • Electrically biased with a qualification - this could be HNC, apprenticed, C+Gs. • Good mechanical skills. • Automotive Experience. • Able to login and identify faults on PLCs. • Experience with either of: o Robotics e.g. ABB, Fanuc, Motorman. o Welding or welding equipment. • Good attitude with the desire and ability to learn and develop. The business will consider an engineer who has completed an apprenticeship and wants to develop themselves. • Happy to work shifts - Early (6-2) and late shifts (2-10) with a night shift every 7 weeks. Role will involve: • Working on the maintenance of welding robotics within the assembly area of the business. • Breakdown support, predominately electrical (70/30) e.g. sensors, circuits, panels. • Mechanical - changing motors, fixtures, clamps, bearings. • Fault finding on PLCs (Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens). • Fault finding on Robotic welders (ABB, Motorman, Fanuc). • Some PPM - time permitting. • Bench repairs - taking into workshop to do refurbishments and restore equipment e.g. motors. • Small projects - process improvement, Kaizen, have changed control systems of equipment, restored machines and built new machines. • Working on shifts (Early 6-2, Lates 2-10). Once every 7 weeks there is a night shift rota (approx 7 weeks per year). The company will offer the successful maintenance engineer: • Between £25000 and £29000 + 10% shift allowance. • Lots of overtime. OTE £30000-£40000. • Extensive training and development. The company invest heavily and will send engineers on courses e.g. ABB robotics, Siemens PLCs, etc. • Opportunities for technical progression into other areas of the business. • A supportive team environment with a good management structure.
