The Role Factory Logistics Operations ManagerWest ThurrockWe are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join one of our sites in West Thurrock.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety and Quality assurance throughout the operation, whilst looking after the well-being and discipline of the workforce.You will support production of packaging materials for P&G (detergents) therefore previous experience in running a manufacturing site / raw materials is advantageous!The role is very customer facing and the potential for additional hours to be worked and be contacted out of office hours may be required to meet customer expectations.There is also great opportunities to expand the Wincanton Factory Logistics business at P&G London plant working with new customers and introducing new ways of workingKey Responsibilities Promote a Culture of Health and Safety Excellence. Identification of H&S training requirements for all reporting employees H&S training completion for all reporting employees according to pre-identified  requirements Accident investigations completion according to Company standards supported by the  London Contract Safety Leader. Prompt escalation of any H&S issue through the reporting line and Wincanton H&S  procedures Promotion of a culture of open and honest ‘Near Miss’ reporting Achieving a result below the Target TIR Ensure all tasks within operations are followed in accordance with SSOW Identification of QA training requirements for all reporting employees QA training completion for all reporting employees according to pre-identified requirements Prompt escalation of any QA issue through the reporting line Promotion of a culture that ensures 100% quality output Limit RFT instances Ensure all tasks within operations are followed in accordance with SOP’s Ensure all records are completed in full and filled correctly in accordance with SOP Ensure correct HR procedures are followed at all levels of reporting Investigations and Disciplinary processes are completed fairly and correctly Sickness is monitored and promptly acted upon Grievances are received, monitored and promptly acted upon Bullying and harassment is not tolerated and promptly acted upon Employees appraisals are completed on time and in full Ensure all Stock Control Processes are in place and adhered to Ensure monthly cycle counts are completed on time and in full Lost pallets are investigated in conjunction with stock control in full and ‘close out’ iscompleted in a timely manner Attend the weekly stock meeting with Wincanton / P&G Achieve performance targets in line with production requirements Ownership of departmental budgets Participation of weekly P&L meeting Promote culture of continuous improvement by continuously challenging performance  levels Root cause all lost time and implement improvement actions Ensure performance is measured and communicated to the department Labour spend is in line with budgeted costs Ensure reporting on time and in full to support finance Manage and control the MHE fleet including maintenance and servicingSkills & Experience Previous experience within a similar role within logistics Excellent people management skills Adaptable and flexible to changes and requirements Proven ability to drive performance and high standards Customer facing experienceAbout Us:Wincanton is a leading third party logistics (3PL) and supply chain solutions provider in the UK and Ireland.
