We run operations across 29 countries and employe c30,000 people - our 'Food Travel Experts'!The RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Manager to run the popular Upper Crust & Pasty Shop brands at Edinburgh Waverley Station. Our General Managers are fully responsible for everything that happens in the shops - from team development to customer service to planning sales initiatives to help the store reach their targets as well as making sure that the store is legal and safe for our customers to be in. Your daily challenge as a GM will be to motivate your teams to meet company goals whilst delivering excellent customer service and producing great quality food and beverages, carrying out various compliance checks and self audits of the standards being achieved within the store, reviewing the P&L and ensuring the stores are on track to achieve KPI's and being an inspirational leader, able to develop your teams to be the managers of the future.The shops are open from 6am to 11pm, so shifts will be required to cover the business on earlies, lates and weekends, working 40 hours per week,5 days out of 7.The SkillsTo be successful in this role you will need to have managed a similar business before and be able to bring your experience of running a branded bakery, coffee shop or similar food retail outlet to the team at SSP. You will be commercially aware of the cost controls and financial tasks involved when running a unit (P&L management, report analysis) and be used to working to set specifications and adhering to 'brand standards'. You will be a confident people manager and able to recruit, train, develop and manage the performance of your team. You will also be very customer focused and have a good track record of providing great customer service with good audit or mystery customer results to show for it.The BenefitsJoining our global company SSP as one of our General Managers you will be part of a larger management team operating other brands within the site and region.We offer a competitive salary of c£24k plus a generous bonus scheme (up to 30% of salary), 28 days holiday (inc.
