As a Basildon, Essex based Automotive Engineering company RLE is looking for a Graduate Engineer to start on an exciting Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturing project. RLE International provide Automotive Engineering solutions to Worldwide Automotive OEMs and provide project teams as a service to cater for the requirements form many of the OEMs, across many specialist areas of vehicle product development and engineering requirements. We are engaged in a project which will require a logical thinker and someone with a passion for data analysis, and a mathematical capability and an Engineering fundamentals understanding combined with a passion for engineering theories and logics. Working on the area of vehicle targets the Graduate Engineer will responsible for meeting and subsequently reducing the weight of the components used within the vehicle build, by offering effective solutions of how to improve the processes associated with the vehicle build. The effect will see a cost reduction and the vehicle adhering to its targets in terms of weight / emissions / fuel consumption etc. The position will be data driven with a numerical biases, so good organisation skills will be essential. The Graduate Engineer will be expected to be able to understand complex Bill of Material BOM and be efficient in Excel when collating, presenting and manipulating volumes of numerical data. Education Required: A degree within an Engineering discipline Mechanical Engineering / Automotive / Mathematics through to Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent in Engineering. Excellent MS Office skills Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Cost and weight reduction /study experience would be extremely beneficial Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to work in a cross functional team environmentThe role is a permanent position which will allow the opportunity to learn on job and to build upon a recent Engineering degree.
