General Traffic Ltd  Job Description – HR ManagerSUMMARY Location:Bolton Head Office Reports to:Directors Hours:9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (must also be available to Managers out of these hours) Salary:Dependant on experience. Since the first branch of General Traffic opened in 1983, our family owned business has grown to become one of the largest stockists of automotive parts in the North West and the Midlands.We have an excellent opportunity for anexperienced standalone generalist HR Manager to join our company on a permanent basis.  OBJECTIVETo effectively manage the HR function and develop effective relationships with line managers and provide a professional service to the business.JOB DESCRIPTION This is a varied role, some of your duties will involve: Prepare the monthly payroll.Childcare vouchers.Administer the payroll in the absence of the Financial Controller.Responsible for all employment related issues for approx. 360 staff over 22 branches.Prepare and Issue contracts of employment/variations/offer letters and new starter documentation.Prepare and analyse monthly Management reports on absence, turnover and recruitment.Assist the Managers and Directors with promotions and internal moves.Manage recruitment from vacancy advertisement to induction.  Process all paperwork.Monitor the induction process from start date to end of probation.Analyse findings of leaver’s interviews and ensure appropriate responses are actioned.Ensure all staff have reviews annually, which include objectives and a development plan when required.Liaise with Managers regarding Grievance and Disciplinary Hearings.  Monitor investigations and act in an advisory capacity. Chair and present at hearings as appropriate.First point of call for any Grievance.Liaise with ACAS conciliators and regarding employment tribunals.Be available for individual interview with any employee regarding personnel matters.Manage and update the company handbook.Manage the HR database ensuring all employee information is current.Review policies and procedures every year and devise policies as and when necessary.Be available on a one to one basis for role play with Line managersLiaise with Managers on employment law issuesResponsible for all administration in HRResponsible for monitoring and booking of any Training requirements.Gender pay gap reporting.Ad hoc responsible for other duties not necessarily connected to HRAny other HR issue as and when required.Continually monitor and review the HR Department function and make appropriate recommendations to the Director.Responsible for the Company Health and Safety.Assist the Director in the execution of his duties and any other duties he may find suitable for your talents  Experience and knowledge At least 3 years’ experience in Human resources.Up to date with current employment legislation and best practice.Minimum CIPD Level 3.Strong communication skills are essential.Attention to detail.Proactive team player with the ability to act on own initiative and take responsibility as required.Ability to lead others and build a rapport throughout.Ideally experience working within the automotive industry.Driving licence. If you feel that you have the skills to fulfil this role, please send an up to date CV to   View full job description
