WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORExperience of financial management of >150 shops in a trading environmentDemonstrable business acumen and ability to make a commercial difference by advising and supporting the trading leadership team and their respective teamsExperience of managing a finance team, including financial analystsAn excellent communicator with the ability to communicate at different levels, both within the organisation and with various external stakeholdersExperience of process improvements to establish lean and accountable process flowsAbility to work with functional expertsJoB Purpose ?         To be an effective leader of the trading finance teamTo provide necessary reporting of operational finance areas to deputy Finance Director-CorporateTo be an active member of the Trading Leadership Team (TLT) and to represent the finance lead in achieving TLT objectivesTo support the Trading Director to ensure financial management and growth with new initiatives and to review risks and opportunities when developing the Trading StrategyManagement of reporting and financial analysis (including balance sheet and cashflow) for the Trading divisionPreparation of annual and strategic Trading plansEnsure year-end statutory accounts are in line with Corporate Finance Reporting requirementsAbility to work in a “group of companies” environmentAbility to develop internal processes and procedures to ensure fit for purpose, whilst adopting lean methodology Core DetailsLocation:Oxford (Oxfam House)Our package:Grade:Up to £50,000 per annumBContract type:Open ended  Hours of work:36 per week. This is a full-time role; however, Oxfam offers various flexible arrangements which candidates can discuss with the Recruiting Manager at interview stageThis role reports to:Zoe Naylor (Deputy Finance Director-Corporate)Staff reporting to this post:2 direct reports  Key Responsibilities Planning and production of monthly Flash Trading resultsPlanning and production of monthly Trading Management AccountsPlanning and production of the Trading forecasts and Annual Trading Budget and strategic three-year plan in co-ordination with areas sales managers and shop managementManagement of Trading stock (including new products) with the Trading management accountant to ensure monthly cycle counts and year-end stock counts are timely and accurately recorded. Ensure the stock accountants can produce quick and accurate reporting to suit Trading management requirements and Year-end requirementsDay to day staff management of direct reportsEnsure month-end Trading reconciliations are performed and approved with adequate controlsProvide business partnering services to Trading Leadership team and their direct reportsEnsure the team provide good customer service to retail shops within the organisation to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of trading objectivesManage various lean project work within the teamsEnsure robust monthly controls within all teams of responsibilitiesDrive for continuous improvement to ensure operational efficiencyResponsible for implementing strategies and for feeding options into divisional strategy involving;High level analysisRisk managementInvestment appraisalPortfolio managementProduction of management accounts, for Oxfam Activities Ltd and other businesses Oxfam develops in the futureAnalysing and interpretation of reports and provision of recommendations to TMT and departmental headsManagement of Trading Division’s risk register, whilst building a relationship with Internal Audit and loss preventionManagement of Trading division’s investment appraisal/business case processesIdentification and specification of Information System’s (IS) needs (all supplied by the IS)Depending on direct reports also overview management of two of the followingbusiness analyst functions:supply and estates teams functionestates/development surveyors functionbuilding surveyor function skills, experience and knowledge Key influencing skills required with the ability to communicate at all levels within the charityAbility to build relationships with internal key stakeholders and with external stakeholdersAbility to listen and engage the operational finance staff to become a value-added team and create a motivated team to drive change Essential ACA/ACCA/CIMA (fully qualified) or equivalentExperience of financial management of >150 shops in a commercial retail environmentComputer literate with Advanced Excel skillsExperience of Microsoft Navision or similar system providing comprehensive retail reporting (Experience of handling high volume data systems)Experience of ERP systemsStrong business partnering skillsGood staff management skillsAttention to detail and a strong work ethicExperience of leading and developing people and teams through changeStrong presentation skillsOpen minded, logical and analytical approach to tasks, with the ability to review, adapt and develop existing procedures and processesAbility to work in the UKFull clean driving licence Desirable Experience of management of retails stock At Oxfam, our job descriptions provide a guide to what might be expected in the role.
