Job SummaryTemporary Heritage Coordinator ( 7 month temporary contract )East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture TrustSalary: Grade 6 £21,387-£24,800Hours: 35 hours per weekLocation: William Patrick Library, KirkintillochThis is an exciting opportunity to join East Dunbartonshire Leisure Culture Trust & East Dunbartonshire Council in the communities engagement with a restored Kirkintilloch Town Hall & Industrial Heritage Centre.The newly refurbished building & heritage display opened for business in March 2018. The supporting programme explores the engagement of local people in heritage in creative & innovative ways through collaborations with specialists, makers & curators.We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who can successfully engage the local community in the industrial heritage of the area through activity lead heritage learning. You will also support a co curated exhibition & events programme. These exhibitions will be created by working with local people & makers,exploring an element of industrial heritage, producing a creative response to research & learning.The successful applicant will support the planning,coordination, monitoring and evaluation of these activities, events & exhibitions working closely with a creative heritage team. PVG / Disclosure Scotland The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteriaWhere the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
