A vacancy at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. Sutton Uplift is part of South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. The Trust provides mental health services to a population of approximately 1 million in the boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth. This post is part of the Trust’s Sutton Borough Directorate whose total adult population is 200,000. Sutton Uplift is a primary care mental health service, including single point of access for all referrals, a wellbeing team and primary care recovery team. Sutton Uplift aims to support the mental health and wellbeing of the local community through provision of wellbeing support, self-management courses, psychological therapy, and mental health assessment and recovery support. This post is located within the IAPT team at Sutton Uplift. This team aims to deliver a range of evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, IPT, DIT) to people with common mental health problems (i.e., depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders) within a stepped-care model. Sutton IAPT is professionally managed by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and operationally managed by the Sutton Uplift Service Manager. The IAPT team consists of more than 20 staff including qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), and Graduate Mental Health Workers (GMHWs), who provide evidence-based psychological interventions in line with NICE guidance. In addition to IAPT clinical staff you will work alongside psychiatry, community nursing, social work and wellbeing navigators. We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist/ Counselling Psychologist/ CBT Therapist to join our IAPT senior management team. The postholder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy, as well as offering advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to other members of the IAPT team, and as part of Sutton Uplift’s MDT referral meetings. The postholder will also provide both triage and clinical supervision to other members of the team at both Steps 2 and 3, ensuring that assessment and treatment protocols are adhered to. There may be opportunities for project responsibility within the service, in addition to supporting Step 3 and Step 2 Leads by providing managerial and clinical cover during periods of leave. You will receive regular clinical supervision from the Clinical Lead for Trust IAPT Services. Successful applicants will have doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, and HPC registration as a practitioner psychologist under the relevant domain or will be a CBT therapist with accreditation or eligibility for accreditation as a CBT therapist with BABCP.
