What might a typical day in this job look like?As an IT Support Modern Apprentice, your duties and tasks included as part of this role:Manage the Jobs and faults that come in on a daily basis, work with 2nd line resolving issues.Support Software on all internal PC's.Perform routine daily checks on all the network servers &network systems.Ensure backups are performed successfully and resolve any logged errors.Maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory domain environment.Assist users with IT issues where necessary.Document existing/new procedures.Install computer hardware and software.Attends the company's premises in the event of an equipment breakdown.Tests equipment identifies faults and where possible carries out repairs on site.Refers more complex faults back to the manufacturer for repair.Keep all software used legal, licensed and recorded. What will I learn?Modern Apprenticeship Programme:As well as entering full-time employment, this opportunity allows you the chance to earn as you learn. Fully funded for those aged 16-24; you will undertake an SVQ [Level 3]in IT &Telecoms as well as working towards several Microsoft certifications. What qualifications or qualities are required?About YouQualifications:Educated to a minimum of National 5, or equivalent, in Maths, English and Computing Science.Essential:A passion for IT and a real enthusiasm for a career within the fieldA willingness to learn and take on new challengesPlanning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for self and others and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.Customer service; understands and responds to customer needs and exceeds expectations where possible.Communication and team working; works cooperatively with others to achieve a common goal and communicates information in a clear, concise and accurate manner.Problem solving and decision making; analyses information appropriately in order to find best solutions and takes a balanced view to reach logical conclusions and make relevant decisions.Commitment to results; is committed to obtaining results through taking responsibility, demonstrating a positive attitude and ensuring quality is built into work.
