Qualified Schools are working on behalf of an excellent school based in Dagenham who are looking to appoint a IT Technician  Apprentice for an as soon as possible start. Upon completion of the 18 month course you will achieve a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician  Standard.Hours of work: Contracted 30 hours x 43.2 weeks            (with 1 INSET Day)           Mon-Fri – working 35 hours per week which includes a 1 hour unpaid daily break – working times to be discussed at interviewSalary:                  NJC Scale 2 point 13 - £13.763pa (FTE: £19.935pa)JOB SUMMARY:To work under the direction of the Network Administrator regarding all aspects of supporting the Network.  To ensure all Curriculum/Admin needs/bookings are met, including the maintenance of all hardware/software.KEY RESPONSIBILITES:• To check all IT rooms daily, log books, toners, paper, reporting all faults back to Network Administrator• Manage helpdesk solution• To assist in smaller scale IT Projects• To manage and undertake incoming jobs• To ensure that all faults are diagnosed and addressed with the Network Administrator• To maintain a full Inventory and maintenance record of all hardware/software within the school reporting to the Network administrator of any changes• To assist the Network Manager with network development where required• Under the direction of the Network Administrator• Add new users onto the network• Software installation onto hardware• Image computers where necessary• Maintain backups for servers• Produce ID cards for staff and students.• Booking and Setting up of loan projects/laptops when required by staff• To be responsible for copying of software and user files, scanning/importing of data and information to create resources for staff/students as required all staff.• To assist with regular audit of software and licenses within the school.• To undertake general administrative duties as required to undertake Safeguarding/Any Training applicable to the role as directed by the school• Attend fortnightly meetings with your line manager and provide progress reports• To review and develop your own professional practice, including taking part in annual performance reviewThe duties of the post may be varied from time to time, in a manner that is compatible with the post held, at the discretion of your line manager or the Headteacher.Person Specification:To support the Network Manager in the day to day running of the school’s IT systems and infrastructure and provide support to staff and students.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Qualities • Hardworking• Polite and courteous• Willing to learn and adapt to situations• Able to work with people of all ages and abilities• Able to work in a team• Able to take direction View full job description
