Job Description Job Title: Heart & Soul Project Assistant (Internship) Responsible to: Project Coordinator Location: Trinity Centre, BS2 0NW Contract rate: £7.65 per hour Hours: 16hrs per week, flexible with some Evening/Saturday shifts. Holidays: 4 days + 1.6 bank holiday allowance = 6 days Contract: 6 month (24 weeks) fixed-term Dates: 26th February to 7th August 2018 Introduction Trinity Community Arts (TCA) is a charity that connects communities and contributes to urban regeneration, through a progressive programme of live music and creative activities. Based in a much-loved historic Bristol landmark, The Trinity Centre, TCA provides a cultural hub for the city, where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to enhance their quality of life. TCA has recently secured funding from Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic England, All Churches Trust and 14 other funders, to undertake essential works to the The Trinity Centre, a Grade II* listed building. Alongside the essential building works we are also launching a year-long programme of accessible heritage activities and events to suit a range of ages and interests. Heart & Soul: Celebrating major life events at Trinity We are seeking a Project Assistant (entry-level career development) to help us deliver this new heritage project. This is a funded internship aims to provide a young person (aged 18- 25) with their first experience in a heritage or arts role, or the ‘next step’ on from, for example, a volunteering role. We want to help diversify the arts and heritage workforce and provide fair access and progression routes in the long term. Led by the Project Coordinator, your role will be to support volunteer recruitment and engagement and work with session facilitators, speakers and project partners to deliver an inclusive programme of learning activities for our local community, schools, BME groups and older participants. You will be able to assist with the development and delivery of activities and events, coordinating a variety of people and resources, supporting with enquiries and administration tasks. Duties and responsibilities Led by the Project Coordinator you will provide support for the following tasks: ? administrate general enquiries from potential volunteers and project participants, incl: ensuring appropriate paperwork and inductions are completed ? support in the delivery of programmed activities and events, incl: - keeping records, documenting activities and gathering participant feedback - arranging and minuting meetings of those involved in the project ? online and social media presence for the project ? basic marketing tasks for the project Other duties: ? Ensure relevant TCA policies are adhered to (ie safeguarding, data confidentiality, equal opps), and helping to create risk assessments for new activities ? Ensure good links between the Trinity Team and the Project Team and to aid in the effective delivery and promotion of the Project ? Promote and carry out outreach and develop partnerships with other organisations to promote volunteering opportunities ? Support with any general TCA enquiries ? Attending Team meetings ? Assist with any other general administrative tasks that may be required Person Specification We are looking for a confident and outgoing person with excellent communication and people skills; able to work using own initiative and to work in a busy environment. Demonstrable experience in: ? Administration ? Basic numeracy ? Communication (telephone and face to face) ? IT office packages ? Bookings and filing systems ? Organisation and time-management Skills: ? Confident and outgoing with excellent communication and people skills ? Able to work using own initiative Desirable work/volunteer experience: ? in a community, arts or voluntary organisation ? in a project of this nature ? with people from diverse backgrounds DBS check required.
