What is the purpose of the role?An experienced Inventory Analyst is needed to join a growing logistics and supply chain team in Reading, Berkshire. Your role will form part of our LMC (Logistics Management Centre) which is the in-house centre of excellence for the complex and diverse logistics functions within the company. Due to expansion of the remit of the LMC, we are now looking to recruit a detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to support our growth plans. The Inventory Management Team function is a key component of our drive to improve efficiency and reduce costs.What makes this role unique?You will be joining an award winning supply and logistics team as well as being part of the larger Thames Water family. The Logistics Management Centre (LMC) is a central, single point of contact for the business. As a centralised operation, The LMC combines mobile equipment from strategic suppliers, hire companies, our partners and Thames Water-owned into one integrated unit. This allows us to meet customer demands and provide the most effective use of equipment across all company sites and operations, thus presenting an end-to-end, single view of logistics demand and capacity. This is a great opportunity for the right person to progress within the business and especially at a time where we are growing and expanding the LMC.What will this role involve?The Inventory Ordering Analyst will: Define and manage Master Data parameters. Creation of Master Data records. Data cleansing/standardisation of Master Data records. Bills of Materials - creation & maintenance. Review orders from Thames Water network and partners to ensure orders reference the correct part numbers and descriptions. Oversee order process to ensure orders are managed efficiently and delivered in a timely manner linked into the Materials Master. Develop and ensure compliance with the companies sourcing policies. Work with Material Planners to ensure inventory levels are appropriate. Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure service levels are maintained/improved. Develop reporting tools to provide visibility to managers/customers.What are we looking for?We are looking for an individual with relevant experience and extensive understanding of Master Data procedures. In addition you will have a wealth of Inventory management methods and processes. You will have experience of order management and customer engagement as well as being commercially astute with a focus on delivering results for the long term benefit of the business and well. Previous experience in SAP Inventory Management and Warehouse Management software is essential and is being highly numerate, analytical and detail oriented, with very strong Excel skills You will also have strong commercial and financial acumen and be a self-starter, with the ability to work in a decentralised team.Thames Water information and salary detailsThis role is based at our head office in in central Reading. We are offering a salary from £23,000 - £25,000 depending on your level of experience.
