What is the purpose of the role?The Inventory operations and supply management team are the custodians of mobile equipment and critical stock held at our distribution centres and business resilience hubs. Operating on a 24/7 -365 basis in order to provide a distribution and equipment service to support the Thames Water business. As Inventory & supply manager you will be required to develop the future operating model for our ground network supply chain through the analysis of the current operational supply chain. You will need to ensure that processes are in place that reflects the need to robustly deliver service continuity and respond to logistical events in a timely manner while continuing to delivering excellent customer service. You will do this whilst maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with Thames Waters service providers and collect key performance information on service delivery to support the LMC Commercial Team.What makes this role unique?As the UK's largest Water and Wastewater Company, we provide the essential service at the heart of daily life, health and enjoyment to 15 million customers across London, the Thames Valley and surrounding area. It requires personal commitment and determination to achieve the right result.What will this role involve?Providing leadership and direction the development and implementation of the future supply chain in order to improve service and reduce working capital.Key stakeholder management throughout the transition of the below network supply chain.Providing real time visibility of equipment and optimum holdings through the nominated system and providing input into the future end to end system requirements.Ensuring company procedures are adhered to.Showing passion about always providing good customer service.Being compliant with transport legislation. What are we looking for?We are looking for someone with relevant experience within Water or Waste or comparable experience including logistics and inventory management is prerequisite management at another Water Utility or associated company. You will be experienced at introducing new supply channels and will have developed and enhanced existing logistics & distribution IT infrastructure. You will have a collaborative work style and be able to work closely across the business, and with suppliers and 3rd parties. You will be technically experienced with a good understanding of Logistics and Warehousing. You will be meticulous at documenting the finer details of what needs to take place and be process driven and to be able to write processes to deliver the service reliably. Being able to manage a large workload of numerous jobs in parallel will be a strength of yours. You will be diligent, have good decision making abilities and be competent with IT systems (will use SAP and Inventory Management extensively). You must have a clean driving licence and have knowledge and awareness of health. Thames Water information and salary detailsThis role will be based at Clearwater Court, central Reading, offering a salary of circa of £42,000 - £49,000 per annum.About Thames WaterThames Water is the largest water and waste-water services company in the UK.
