Salford Law is proud of it’s reputation as a provider of an academically rigorous and practically relevant legal education. It has developed a pro bono offering (CLOCK) and is in the process of expanding these activities. The department has responded proactively to changes in the nature of legal education, legal business formations, and the employment destination of law graduates. This has resulted in the production of a suite of five new law degree programmes and two new LLM programmes, which are designed to reflect the changing nature of the legal working environment. At the core of these new degrees is the aim to prepare students for the possibility of employment in both the traditional legal professions as well as within commercial and third sector organisations. This development has the stated aim of increasing the employment prospects for graduates of Salford Law. In response to the new degrees, student recruitment onto the LLB Programmes has almost doubled in the period 2014-2017 whilst increasing entry grades.
