Boutique, highly regarded Law Firm in Manchester City Centre is looking for a Legal Secretary to work predominantly within the Family departments but to also support Litigation. Supporting other Secretaries, Solicitors and Consultants up to Partner level, the successful candidate will need to be organised, efficient and able to task manage. Team working will be paramount as you will be actively supporting both teams in addition to providing excellent customer service to both clients and colleagues alike.Responsibilities and skills required:-•Manage incoming correspondence, emails, telephone calls and filing•Excellent oral and written communication with colleagues, clients and other third parties•Arranging meetings, when appropriate taking minutes at meetings and distributing information•Completing and submitting relevant Searches, Legal Documentation, Document Bundles and Official Forms ensuring that they are professionally presented and efficiently produced•Accurately produce documents, letters, memos, attendance notes and emails•Proof read all typed communications to ensure spelling and grammar have been checked •Ensure contact details of all existing clients, new clients, potential clients, meetings and marketing activities are accurately recorded and maintained on the firm’s database systems•Be competent in the following databases; Microsoft software packages, InterAction, BigHand, Global Expense, Cisco, Copitrak, Rekoop and any bespoke packages•Actively assisting others by being pro-active meeting needs of others in administrative tasks•Being flexible and willing to go the extra mile when necessary•Assisting Fee Earners to be billed and paid on time by preparing bill narratives/breakdowns etc•Effectively liaising with other support functions when appropriate, i.e. liaising with the facilities team and arranging couriers with reception•Diary management including all subsequent arrangements•Work with your team/group peers and continuously develop effective ways of working within the businessQualifications desired:•Excellent technical knowledge of all Microsoft packages including Word XP, Outlook and Excel and PowerPoint•Strong and accurate audio typing skills with minimum of 65wpm or greater•Previous legal secretary experience in Family and Private Tax•Previous legal secretary experience in InsurancePlease note that due to the amount of responses we receive, we are unfortunately unable to give feedback to individuals.
