  Job DescriptionMarket Manager Location/ Base: NorthfieldReports to: Regional ManagerHours: 40 hoursSalary: Negotiable dependant on experience. Job Purpose:The Market Manager at the Northfield Market Village Centre is to ensure that the centre meets and exceeds customer, tenant and landlord expectations on a day to day basis. The Market Manager provides staff, tenants and customers with a single point of contact for all queries and issues during opening times. The Market Manager will manage staff such as cleaners and administration assistants . The Market Manager will also work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure the centre is fully compliant with the Health and Safety regulations. The Market Manager will also have a strong working relationship with the Regional Manager to ensure all business is fully communicated on a regular basis such as performance of the market/ centre, tenant requests, market/ centre issues and staff performance.  Relationships: Direct line management responsibility for centre and overall responsibility for all centre staff and tenants within the centre. (including direct employed, agency personnel and sub-contractors). Resource/compliance accountability:  First point of contact for customers and tenant enquiries and complaints.Monitoring and managing the performance of staff on a day to day basis.Incident management, investigation and reporting.Managing, training, disciplining and mentoring staff.Reporting all business matters to the Regional Manager.Working towards the Market/ centres objectives set by Regional Manager.Monitor expenditure against budget and forecast.Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and report all matters without delay.Responsible for the market/ centre administration ensuring all is up to date and accurate, including licences and leases which require to be vetted by the Regional Manager.To maintain personal and professional development in areas of work associated with the role such as Health and Safety, Market Management and Leadership.To work in line with the Company’s Values, Equality and Diversity Policies.  Main objectives and responsibilities/Accountability: Daily site patrols identifying H&S, cleaning, maintenance and security issues.Carry out daily, weekly, monthly risk assessments for the market/centre.First line disciplinary management.Effectively lead and manage employees.Contractor management with all sub-contractors working on site.To represent the Company professionally at all times.To maintain the market/ centre at the highest possible standards.To hold regular tenant meetings to provide best service.To report to the Regional Manager the centres financial information. Weekly the report must advise on weekly income received, Up to date arrears information, expenditure and any other matters.Maintain good financial control to minimise loss and strive to maximise income and profit.To drive sales and maintain a good standard of occupancy within the centre.Remain up to date with marketing and promotional interventions e.g. social media.Deliver promotional strategy’s set by the Regional Manager.To create good, effective and professional relationships with staff and tenants.To maintain confidentiality of data/information held by the company. Required Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organisational and influencing skills.Minimum 2 years’ experience at Management level ideally within retail.Excellent IT literacy in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.Must have a smart appearance.Minimum 2 years’ experience within sales.Ability to multi task and prioritise.   Issue: April 2018                                                                                   Responsibility: HR ManagerReview April 2019  View full job description
