Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Wisbech, Food, 3 on 3 off 2 on 2 off (Days and Nights) Up to £34K + overtime + 18 days of Holiday + pension + extensive training The Company Our client specialise in the production of frozen potato products, specifically chips, wedges and potato flake (used to make crisps). They supply to major supermarkets and restaurants including Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons, KFC, McDonalds and Burger King. As well as producing branded goods for their customers, they also have their own brand of Chips and Wedges. With multiple sites across Europe and the Americas, their UK production site in Wisbech produces 90,000 tons of chips a year. The business has enjoyed a stable period of growth and is now reinvesting their profits by upgrading and installing new and existing lines. Thanks to this growth in production, they now require an additional Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team of eight. The Role Working in teams of two per shift, the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be required to perform both reactive maintenance tasks and work logged on the PPM schedule. Time spent on both is roughly evenly split. In terms of equipment the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer would be required to perform both electrical and mechanical repairs on Optical Grading systems, conveyors, washers, steam peelers, pre-heater, blanchers, cutters, re-graders, fryers, freezers, baggers, palletisers and pallet wrappers, all of which is PLC Controlled (Allen Bradley). The Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will need to be able to fault find electrically using a multimeter against electrical drawings, as well as checking inputs and outputs on the PLC systems. Candidates who can hook in and diagnose the PLCs using a laptop would be highly desired, but full training will be provided upon starting. Mechanically, the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer would be required to strip down gearboxes and transmissions, as well as the fault find and repair of pneumatic systems, refrigeration systems, barings and motors. The Candidate To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes: * Time served Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer. * Must be able to fault find on electrical systems using a multimeter. * Must be able to read electrical drawings. * Must hold an electrical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent). Training and Development The company very keen on personal development and the up skilling of their staff. As such, they have a number of supplier based training courses available to all their engineers. There will also be the opportunity for two of their engineers to become Refrigeration Experts as currently they use a third party to perform service work on their freezers and chillers.
