Ideally you will have: Minimum 9 months post graduate experience Post graduate adult dysphagia experience and training Experience working with an adult acquired caseload (not necessarily full time) Experience working with / supporting Assistant level staff Willingness to take on the challenge of gaining Band 6 competencies We will offer you: A programme of support and learning tailored to your needs, to facilitate the opportunity for an accelerated career A friendly and lively working environment Key duties for Post 1 (Stroke Unit) In liaison with an experienced 0.2 Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, to lead and develop the Speech and Language Therapy Service within the Stroke Unit To ensure that patients receive assessment and treatment in line with audit targets To ensure that the Stroke Unit is an aphasia friendly environment Developing , supporting and training the Therapy Assistants and Speech and Language Therapy team members Delivering training to the Multi-Disciplinary Team and wider staff team Key duties for post 2 (Main Speech and Language Therapy department) Ensuring that assessment and treatment are offered in line with agreed timescales Managing an In-Patient dysphagia and communication caseload Managing an Out Patient caseload with special responsibility for more complex patients Community dysphagia home visits Contributing to training within the Multi-Disciplinary Team, hospital, and wider health community Developing and supporting Team Members Boston is a busy market town on the east coast of Lincolnshire.
