The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust is the host organisation for the Operational Delivery Networks and provides Emergency, Urgent and Non-Emergency pre-hospital care and transport across six counties Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire &Rutland and Northamptonshire.Patient and public member/representativeWith a trial period of 3 months, the Network is seeking an expert patient and public member/ representative to join the Network Board, with the potential to increase this to 31 March 2019.The Network is looking for an individual with expertise in public engagement and experience of the major trauma pathway. Applicants are required to be residents of the East Midlands area as this will bring knowledge of the local region to this position.The patient and public member/representative will support the Network in ensuring that the voice of patients and the public are heard in the work of the Network. The role requires the successful candidate to provide an independent view of the work of the Network and to be external to the day-to-day running of the East Midlands Major Trauma Network.Participating in relevant Network meetings, the successful candidate will engage positively and collaboratively with the Network and will act as an ambassador for the patient and public voice. The role requires a good understanding of public service values and an appreciation of the wider environment in which the Network operates. Candidates will have an interest in health service issues and experience of working in a group environment.
